Walk to the Future with Me
I am participating in The Storehouse Project’s Walk to the Future campaign, and for me, this is about much more than reaching a fundraising goal.
The Storehouse Project began in a 10-by-10-foot room with a simple desire to meet real needs in practical ways. From that small beginning, it has grown into a place where individuals and families can receive food, clothing, community meals, support, opportunities to serve, and the reminder that they are not alone.
Now, we are preparing for the next chapter at 349 Wheelers Farms Road.
And I want to help us get there.
Why This Matters to Me
I have had the privilege of seeing The Storehouse Project from the inside. I have watched people give their time, their resources, their ideas, and sometimes simply whatever they had available because they believed our community deserved something better.
I have also seen the people we serve.
Behind every number is a person, a family, a story, and often a moment when a little practical help can make a very real difference.
That is what keeps this work personal for me.
Recently, I completed Pedaling for Purpose, and that experience stirred something in me. What started as a challenge became another reminder of what can happen when we stop waiting for the perfect moment, use what we already have, and invite others to come alongside us.
The support, encouragement, and generosity surrounding Pedaling for Purpose lit a fire in me.
So, I decided I was not finished.
I’m a Team of One
The Walk to the Future campaign is built around a simple goal: 100 Teams. $1,000 Per Team. $100,000 Together.
Typically, each team can bring together 10 people to help raise its $1,000.
I decided to do mine a little differently.
I am committing to being a team of one, and I have personally committed to making sure the full $1,000 is given.
But I still want you to be part of it.
Any gift made through my page will count toward this goal and will help move The Storehouse Project forward. Whether you give $10, $25, $50, $100, or another amount that works for you, you are becoming part of something larger than one person or one fundraiser.
And yes, if needed, I will make up the difference.
Because I believe enough in this next chapter to personally stand behind the commitment.
From 10 × 10 to What Comes Next
There is something about the story of The Storehouse Project that continues to challenge me.
We started in a 10-by-10-foot room.
Not with everything we needed.
Not with unlimited resources.
Not with some perfect plan.
We started with what we had.
And then we kept moving.
That small space became food for families.
It became clothing.
It became meals shared around tables.
It became volunteer opportunities.
It became partnerships, relationships, and a growing community of people willing to serve.
And now we are stepping into a space that gives us the opportunity to do even more.
For me, Walk to the Future represents that next step.
It is not simply about moving into a larger building. It is about creating greater capacity to serve people well, to strengthen what is already working, and to continue building something our community can depend on.

One Person Can Still Make a Difference
Pedaling for Purpose reminded me of something I already knew but sometimes need to experience again: We do not always have to wait for someone else to move first.
Sometimes we simply ask ourselves, What can I do with what I already have? And then we do that.
For this campaign, this is what I can do.
I can make my commitment.
I can invite others into the vision.
I can use my voice.
I can give.
And I can keep moving forward.
The Storehouse Project began with something small.
A 10-by-10-foot room... And look at what God, community, generosity, and a lot of willing hands have built from there.
