Walk to the Future: A Future Worth Walking Toward!

Will You Be One of My 10?

Hi! I’m participating in The Storehouse Project’s Walk to the Future, and I’ve set a goal to raise $1,000.

I’m looking for 10 people who will each help me raise $100.

You can give $100 once or $10 a month for 10 months. And if another amount works better for you, that’s great too. Every gift matters!

Why I’m Walking

I came from very little, and remember being a child and experiencing days when I was hungry and there wasn’t always enough. But I also remember my mother. Even when we barely had anything, she still found a way to feed others. She taught me that we are not here just to survive on our own, we are here to help each other.

At La Isla, we love feeding our community and giving back whenever we can because we know firsthand how much a homemade meal can mean to someone. We’re walking to support the church’s food pantry because we believe no one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. Matthew 25:35 says, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat.” That is the heart behind why I’m doing this.

From 10 × 10 to the Future

The Storehouse Project began in a 10-by-10-foot room and has grown to serve thousands of our neighbors through food, clothing, community meals, and other practical help.

Now, we’re preparing for the next chapter at 349 Wheelers Farms Road, That 10-by-10 beginning inspired our challenge: 10 people × $100 = $1,000

I’m one of 100 teams working together collectively raise $100,000.
